Join us for a thoughtfully structured Mahjong 101 class designed for those who are curious about the game and ready to learn it properly from the start.

Led by Boston Mahjong, this instructional session will cover the fundamentals of American Mahjong, from understanding the tiles and the NMJL card to the flow of play, so that you can confidently take a seat at the table.

Hosted within the serene setting of Wild OM, this is a rare opportunity to learn the game in an intimate, beautifully considered environment, surrounded by others who share your curiosity.

The cost of this event reflects the instructor’s time and travel, the reserved studio space, and the light refreshments provided.

No experience is required nor is it expected.

Light refreshments will be available.

Simply come as you are. If you happen to have a 2026 NMJL card, you’re encouraged to bring it thought it is not necessary.

Please note: shoes must be removed upon entry to the studio.

The session will conclude promptly at 3pm as the space transitions to another private engagement.

Boston Mahjong is led by instructor Abby, a former Boston-area attorney who teaches American Mahjong using National Mah Jongg League rules with a clear, modern approach. As an OMM-certified instructor and member of the Mahj Life Instructor Guild, Abby is known for breaking down the game in a way that makes it accessible, engaging, and genuinely fun.

Having first learned in 2012, she has helped introduce a growing community of players to the table, grounded in her belief that mahjong fosters connection across generations. Through Boston Mahjong, Abby brings both structure and ease to the learning experience, building confidence and community with every game.

The Wild OM is a boutique heated yoga and fitness studio in Andover, MA offering hot vinyasa, strength, sculpt, restorative classes and more. Designed as both a workout and a reset, the studio blends intentional movement, music, and heat to create an elevated, community-driven experience where people can challenge their bodies, clear their minds, and reconnect.
